We are excited to announce that we have 3 new ad formats! This will help publishers and advertisers get better results. First, let’s take a look at new behaviors for existing ad templates:
Getting Sticky With It
All existing ad templates now support a new behavior designed to help improve click rates and create more value for advertisers. This data attribute will ensure the ad “sticks” either to the top (default) or bottom of the viewport as the user scrolls.
This attribute allows you to set the amount of top margin to apply above the ad. This helps you to account for things like a fixed top nav bar etc…
This attribute indicates two things. First that you’d like the ad to stick to the bottom of the viewport as the user scrolls. Second it indicates the amount of bottom margin to apply below the ad.
The top bar ad is placed above all other DOM content in the document’s body. It ensures that the user sees the ad and provides high value to advertisers which will help establish that they will want to advertise on your property. It also allows the user to close the ad (and all future ads) for the duration of their session. The ad is inserted as the first child element of the document body regardless of where you place the integration code snippet.
The smart bar ad is placed at the top of the viewport but only displays after the user begins scrolling. This behavior ensures that your content remains front and center while also assigning high priority to the ad after the user is engaged with your site. The user has the ability to close the ad (and all future ads) for the duration of their session.
bottom right. This format ensures the ad is highly visible and provides high value to the advertiser. The user has the ability to close the ad (and all future ads) for the duration of their session.
That’s it for now. We will be writing 3 related blog posts so stay tuned to Twitter or our Newsletter.
